  1. Singer 7258 review

The Singer 7258 Is Available Here On Amazon For $177.49

My Review on The SINGER 7258 Sewing Machine

I cannot say enough about The SINGER 7258, The instruction manual is incredibly detailed. My basic Singer Esteem covered many features so briefly that I really didn’t know what I was doing. The Stylist manual even goes so far as to explain many of the included 100 stitches. The machine is pretty self-explanatory to get setup if you’ve sewed before. But it’s nice that any questions you have are probably in the manual and won’t require a long Google search. It sews VERY smoothly. And it’s so much quieter than my old machine. The option to have the needle stop up or down might not seem like a big deal – but it’s SO convenient once you get used to it. I love it! The slider to control the speed of the machine without the foot pedal also gives some speed control when the foot pedal is attached. Although my daughter is too young to sew now, I imagine that being able to limit the foot pedal’s speed for a beginner will be a great plus. And when piecing together long strips of fabric, in particular, the ability to sew without the foot pedal attached is a nice luxury. I was afraid it would be scary and hard to stop. But the Start/Stop button is located in a very convenient place, making it easy to stop the machine with your finger that’s feeding the fabric through. The stitches are really pretty. To bring back up my old Singer Esteem II – it had some extra stitches that looked quite awful and I wondered why anyone would ever use them. I kind of expected that with this model too, but since I sew mostly children’s clothing, it didn’t matter a lot to me if anything but standard stitches worked. But I have been very pleasantly surprised. I’ve already found myself embellishing some items with the pretty choices. Can you believe how many presser feet are included with this machine? Really, that alone is what sold me on it.

    Cons

If The SINGER 7258 needed to be serviced, there aren’t many singer servicing stations so it will need to be sent.

The pedal is plastic and so is the lever that lifts the presser foot is plastic and feels a little cheap.

Here’s one Testimonial of Other Owners of the SINGER 7258

I couldn’t be happier with The SINGER 7258 sewing machine. I have been doing light sewing for about 20 years. My last machine was an inexpensive Brother and I could never get the tension right, the thread would either break in the middle of sewing or be way too loose. Since I plan on sewing more than I have in the past, I decided I needed a new machine and singer has never disappointed me.(Luci Phelps)

    Final Thoughts

The best feature The SINGER 7258 has, in my opinion, is the button that allows the machine to stop with the needle down every time. This is very helpful when I’m turning the fabric to sew a curve. I’m not very good at this, so I have to stop sewing quite a bit to turn the fabric. This was also very helpful when I was making an applique blanket. If you do not use that button, the needle always stops up. That is really nice also. One reviewer mentioned that if you left the button on to keep the needle down and you manually put the needle up, sometimes it won’t let you take your fabric out, but this is solved simply by making sure you move the needle is all the way up. I haven’t had that problem at all. The LED light is nice and bright. The stitch possibilities are endless. I’ve been playing around with some of the decorative stitches and it’s quite fun. I can’t wait to actually do a project with these. So far, I’ve only really used the standard straight stitch and zigzag stitch. I highly recommend this sewing machine to everyone. It works like a dream and with a reasonable price now with up to 35% off you can’t go wrong with this one.

  2. Brother LS2125I review

    January 25, 2012 by admin

The Brother LS2125I Is Available Here On Amazon For $79.39

My Review on The Brother LS2125I Sewing Machine

The Brother LS2125I sewing machine is exactly what a novice sewer will be looking for. I’m no seamstress, but it’s nice to have a working sewing machine around the house to mend or hem clothing and make a few more simple things, like curtains or pillowcases. This is no muss, no fuss. The directions are clearly written and there are not a lot of buttons to push or stitches to choose from. It has ten basic stitches, and that’s probably more than you need if you are looking to purchase an entry-level basic sewing machine. I was up and running within ten minutes and within a half an hour had hemmed a pair of jeans that were too long for me. If you are looking for a good, easy-to-use and dependable machine for a novice sewer, I think this would be a great choice. This machine is the perfect machine for beginners and people who just want to do small sewing jobs. I am very pleased with the machine, and the price was great. It does everything that I needed it to do and is small enough that I can put it in a cabinet out of the way. Also threading it was incredibly easy and was just like I remembered. I highly recommend this machine for those who are looking to get into sewing. This is an excellent machine because it is so easy to use. The most important thing I did upon purchasing this machine was to read the manual and go through all the procedures (loading the bobbin, threading the needle, etc.). Because it was so easy to use I became quite an accomplished sewer and have saved several hundred dollars making personal and household items. With the savings I’ve made on these items the machine has more than paid for itself. I would recommend this machine for anyone who wants a trouble free product.

    Cons

The only drawback, which is minor for the Brother LS2125I is the instructions there is too much jumping around. If they would put all English consecutive, and then the other languages, it would be easier to follow. It is a bit awkward to thread top and bottom the first time around but that will change as you get more used to the method.

Here’s one Testimonial of Other Owners of the Brother LS2125I

The Brother LS2125I is basic but has enough added features to experiment and be creative. Nice buttonhole, too! It is very light weight, but does not have a handle, so think about that upon purchase-if you are going to take it to classes, get a case for it (hard or soft will do). It is the perfect machine for the beginner.(sewyogaga)

    Final Thoughts

This Brother LS2125i 10-stitch is exactly what I needed. This light weight machine is great because the only stitches I ever use are forwards, backwards, and very occasionally I might need a zigzag. I found the directions to be easy to use and was sewing right away. One of my advantages was that the bobbin configuration in this machine is exactly like the one in my old machine so I knew what I was doing. But if you find it confusing, there are videos on youtube that show you exactly how to thread this sewing machine & the bobbin. The bobbin was extremely easy to thread. It is loaded vertically, which I’m not a fan of, however, this one went in easily and quickly, so I’ve changed my mind about that! It threads very simply. If you sew, this machine needs no manual. If you don’t sew, you need to look at the pictures as you read the manual. The description of how to insert the bobbin, be careful to insert the bobbin correctly. But the picture showed the thread direction, which is the important thing to note. It was helpful that the English directions were in one manual and the Spanish in another. reasonable price now with up to 20% off you can’t go wrong with this one.
